Pioneer Woman Cookbook GIVEAWAY!!! ****UPDATE CONTEST CLOSED****

I just want to start by saying that I know that Pioneer Woman doesn't have much to do with "food storage"... but we wanted to give away something very special to celebrate our new design! Not a fan of Pioneer Woman? That's fine - I can almost guarantee that you know someone who is, and this would make a great Christmas gift!

The Pioneer Woman is one of my absolute favorite blogs. I credit PW as (one of ) my blogging inspirations, and I was thrilled when she came out with her own cookbook.

In the cookbook are step-by-step photos of delicious recipes

as well as peeks into her daily life with amazing photographs.

My girls and I braved the crowds to meet PW and get my cookbook autographed.

It was awesome! Really, her beans and cornbread recipe changed my outlook on beans entirely. I didn't tell her so, I was far too star struck.

PW, me and my 5 year old

We'd like to giveaway a copy of PW's cookbook to one of our readers!

autographed by the Pioneer Woman herself!

*****************************************
There are two ways to enter this giveaway-

1. Leave a comment below telling us your favorite PW recipe (if you are a PW fan). If you aren't a follower of PW's blog, that's fine - tell us what you are giving someone for Christmas this year (you don't have to say who you are giving it to.. but basically we need some gift ideas) :)

2. For a second entry into the contest, add (or replace) our new button on your blog! Leave a second comment with a link back to your blog.

The giveaway will go until Friday at midnight EST. We'll announce the winner on Saturday.

GOOD LUCK!

*We purchased this book for our giveaway with funds from e-book sales and advertising. Thank you!

I'm not a follower of that blog, but I'm going to check it out now!

But I'll tell you what I'm doing for my Grandma for Christmas. She has EVERYTHING she needs, so I'm getting her a blank journal, along with a list of things for her to write about. Some examples are things like: What did your family do for Christmas when you were a child? Did Santa Clause/Easter Bunny/Tooth fairy ever visit your house? What memories do you have of the Great Depression? etc.

She journals everyday, and I thought this would be a great way for her memories to live on after she passes.

I really like the new look and format of your blog.

I haven't tried any of PW recipes, so can't name a favourite.

But for Christmas I'm making quite a few gifts. Mostly practical things like a knitted hat, headband, gloves, and dishclothes. I'm also sewing gift bags, some for "wrapping" gifts but also some as the gifts themselves.

Sariah said...

Blackberry Cobbler. This would make a great gift for my husband, he is always going onto her site looking for new recipies.

It's all about her roasted asparagus. I have my entire inlaws addicted to them.

Not a follower yet but will be. I paid off my in-laws water bill for them for christmas. They don't need anymore junk. Practical gifts are always better.

Unknown said...

Ok, this is going to be a little silly but my kids love it. We like PW's egg in a hole. It's really yummy and a great egg and toast experience. We call it the pop eye. IDK why but it's what we call it.

I like them all - and her irreverant sense of humor. I also like her tasty kitchen web site (the apple cake recipe rocks!)

I _LOVE_ PW!! I haven't actually made any of her recipes yet, but love her photos & humour.

This year, I bought a cd for a friend when I was at a concert & I think he'll love it. My gift to my sister was going to concert with her. (otherwise she'd have to pack it into her suitcase for an international flight & dust it!!) For my mother, I'm looking for a fabulous cardigan.

Every year I buy presents for kids on the "Giving Tree""--just pick a tag with the age/gender/gift idea. I'm going to pick one or two tags tomorrow. (I don't have any kids, so I have a blast revisiting my childhood!)
:-)

And I'm hoping to put aside some $ this year to visit the local LDS cannery in the new year--my present to myself.

How's your list coming along?

hayley said...

Ok so I'm in it for the PIONEER WOMAN COOKBOOK!
Bonus entry: This year I used a dehydrated soup receipe, placed the individual ingredients in snack size ziplocks, put all of the baggies in a large ziplock, made up a cute receipe card to slip inside the big ziplock. This makes a Huge pot of vegetable beef soup. And it will just sit on the pantry shelf waiting for the right time to go into the pot. No hurry but will come in really handy at the right time.

Unknown said...

I love PW's site/blog, although I haven't had time for looking at it much lately. No fave recipes, though, sorry. Haven't had a chance to try making any of them, although I HAVE printed some out (good intentions!).

This year, I'm being frugal (sort of) and giving the few people on my gift list homemade Christmas cookies from my grandmother's recipes--the ones we've been making in our family since I was a kid. They're always a hit.

Unknown said...

PS Now I'm trying to figure out how to make them (the cookies) food storage friendly! Just how good is butter powder, anyway?

Kris said...

My husband makes Peanut, Pecan & Cashew Brittle and that is what we give to all our friends. He makes 100 lbs every Christmas.
