    ReplyDelete
  6. We have food storage everywhere it seems. The bulk of it is in our back entryway...we've converted a couple shelves into food storage.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I stacked it behind my couch and put a long board on time and made a sofa table. It is hidden right in my living room.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Our long-term storage is completely in the basement. Our 3 month supply (what exists of it!) is spread between our pantry and the basement.

I've really got my fingers crossed for this one...Thanks!

  9. My food storage is in a tiny coat closet in my tiny kitchen.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Our is on a set of shelves in my two year old's room. We live in an apartment so space is a bit tight but we are doing our best.

    ReplyDelete
  11. All of our stuff in boxes is in the guest bedroom, creating quite an ugly view from the bed. Perhaps a table cloth and a tv on it would make it pretty?!
And the majority of our 3 month supply is shoved into every nook and cranny in our tiny tiny kitchen!

    ReplyDelete
  12. in our garage on shelves & in the pantry.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Right now most of mine is stored in rubbermaid tubs under furniture or used as a piece of furniture with some kind of cloth over it.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Food storage is in the basement right now, but we are just getting started...I envision an expansion to under beds and closet shelves in the near future...

    ReplyDelete
  15. I have a little 'grocery store' on TOP of my counters. Whatever works hey?

    ReplyDelete
  16. In the guest room closet and in the pantry...although there is some in pretty much every nook of our little apartment.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Just the garage, but for some people in California that constitutes as another "multi-purpose" room or storage room. Ha ha!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ours is all in our basement on shelves... since we don't even have a pantry!

    ReplyDelete
  19. We converted a long cleaning closet into a pantry. Food items are on the shelves & floor with the water on the carport.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Long term storage is found in the basement. 3-month is in our kitchen, freezer, and basement.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Holy Cow, before just a few months ago the storage was baking away in the garage! Now, thanks to finally getting a large shelf reliance (and the kids all growing up and moving out!) we have move the storage to an inside bedroom closet.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  22. LOL! Under/in furniture, in laundry room. The newest storage area is in unused half of the master bedroom closet. As soon as the den closet is purged, it will become food storage.

    ReplyDelete

  25. In the closet under the stairs. In arizona is way too hot to think about storing it anywhere else!

    ReplyDelete
  26. We finally have a decent size pantry to store it in; makes it a lot easier to rotate it now that it stares me down everyday!

    ReplyDelete
  27. In the storage room ... which will hopefully soon be more organized. :)

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  32. Our food storage is mostly in our bedroom. We just don't have anywhere else to put it!

    ReplyDelete
  33. In the cabinets over the washer/dryer.

I don't think too many people living near the coast have basements, or risk storing stuff under beds or on closet floors (one of my Facebook alumni groups has a few conversations about the loss of yearbooks because of flooding).

I do have some MREs and canned stuff in the back bedroom I haven't been able to put them on the closet shelf yet (hubby's junk's in the way).

    ReplyDelete
  34. Our food storage pretty much takes up half our office and the entire closet!

    ReplyDelete
  35. All of our food storage is within our kitchen/dining room area. A five shelf rack against one wall holds cans. Boxed foods(pastas, stuffing mixes etc) go in a large pantry in the center of the kitchen. Bags of wheat waiting to be stored in buckets are on the shelves above the fridge. Chest freezer against the wall in the dining room. Liquor and cereal in wall cabinets along with baking stuff. Green coffee beans in 5 pound sacks above the pantry. Water is currently stored on the floor under a desk, until we get the laundry room rearranged for additional storage capability.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Our is in the garage. Probably not the best place for it, but really, the only place for it right now in our small house.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ours is in a cement walled room down in the basement . . . unfortunately that should be turned into a bathroom sooner or later, but I refuse to give up the space 'cause then I'll have no place to put my food!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  56. Just recently, it has been placed on beautiful shelves in a "room" in the basement.

A mere 5 steps down and 15-20 degrees cooler than the rest of the house!

Since the floor is concrete in this room, we have laid a piece of vinyl flooring about 8'X10', so nothing will be touching the floor. It works for now...eventually, I would like to dedicate another room for our storage.

  174. When my son left on his mission, my oldest daughter took over his room. When she moved out (but before my son came home from his mission), I took over the room as my food storage room. It is a really nice sized room and I was excited. After about a year of using it, I am out of room there, but that is where MOST of my food storage is. (My son wasn't all too happy to come home from his mission and find out he didn't have a room anymore -- only a hide-a-bed in the piano room). I also have all of my buckets of wheat and oats and powdered milk under the stairs in what used to be a children's play area. And then, my pantry downstairs is where the rest of it is.... I still need more space so that consolidator could be a good start to help with space problems! Love your website!
