One of the biggest difficulties I have with food storage is wheat. How do you cook it? How do you eat it? And how long does wheat flour actually last? Thankfully, writing on this blog for the last two years has helped me out a lot with these questions, but wheat is still a bit of a challenge for me. And speaking of wheat flour.... how am I supposed to grind my wheat if I'm out of power?

My blender - my family is really into smoothies lately. They're a great summer treat!!
Has to be my Kitchen Aid. I do a lot of freezer and bulk cooking, and it helped me out so much in labor alone, and I just love the thing!
I love my kitchen-aid hand blender for smoothies, mayonnaise, and everything in between.
My KitchenAid! I use it so often, for kneading and mixing and whipping. Step two in using up my wheat!
My Cuisinart,its about 15 yrs old,use it for everything from pizza bough to slicing potatoes for chips

My crockpot (is that a gadget? seems like it should be to me). I use it at least once a week. I love how simple it makes a meal.
My food processor! I'm making so much zucchini bread, carrot cake, cole slaw, and egg rolls lately and if I didn't have that food processor my hands would ACHE from hand shredding all those veggies!
Right now it is my Bosch but next week it could be something different. I love to make 3 loaves of bread at one time and the Bosch makes life easier.
i love my mini-food processor! I like being able to chop onions without making my hands stink for the next three days :)
My favorite gadget is probably my apple slicer. I use it for everything including apples and pears. Pears taste so much better and you don't have juice running down your face from bitinig into the pear.
It's little but I love our zester. Just adding a bit of lemon, lime, or orange zest to fruit salads, veggies, quick breads, or cookies results in such a fresh, delicious flavor.
My immersion blender. It converts to a food processor and a whisk. I love that it's so versatile and can make the lumpy smooth.
my favorite is my immersion hand-held blender. I use it for canning for my tomatoes and my applesauce, for my smoothies right in the glass and for thickening my potato soup :)LOVE it!!
Love my blender too! So great for baby food and smoothies!
I LOVE my BlendTec blender AND my KitchenAid mixer.. I can't choose between the two of them. I need them both equally!

My favorite is my immersion blender. I use it all the time, it is easy to clean up and small to store.
My kitchen aid. But we have also been using our (electric) wheat grinder a lot.

My favorite kitchen tool is a whisk--I use them for everything; salad dressings, baked goods, etc. I actually have a collection--11 of them!
I think the most used is the KitchenAid, but I haven't met a kitchen gadget I didn't like.
Gotta be the kitchen aid! It does everything if you have the right attachment. Probably even has a grinding wheat attachment.
I love using my crock pot! It is so easy to throw some stuff in it in the morning and then come home in the afternoon to yummy smells and dinner made!
My favorite is my electric can opener. It's so much easier than the hand held ones.

I know it's basic, but I can't live without my rice cooker. Love it love it, use it use it.
Not really a kitchen gadget, but I absolutely love my foodsaver! We use it for everything. Best birthday present I ever got!
My breadmaker. I can't seem to make bread by hand. I use it for wheat bread, but also pizza dough and cinnamon roll dough. All I have to do us measure the ingredients!
I think for me, my favorite kitchen gadget is an egg shaped hard bolided egg slicer. You can use it for so many things and it cleans really easy. Great for slicing eggs for salads, egg salad, garnishes, sandwiches, just about anything you can think of.
It's a toss-up between my food processor, which makes prep work so much quicker, and my slow cooker, which gives me meals when I don't have time to cook!
Okay, if I must pick one, it would be my slow cooker.

Hummm...It would be a tie between my Bosch and my Blendtec Total Blender and my electric pressure cooker....they are LIFESAVERS!
The Cutco knives my in-laws gave us for our wedding. I'll never go back to cheap-o knives again!
My grapefruit spoon. Today I used it to take the seeds out of a cucumber. Quick and easy.
I love my Bosch. I would like to love my ice cream maker, but it doesn't make ice cream . . . it just smooths out the cream.
My favorite kitchen gadget is my 3 in 1 pressure cooker! Oh my! I was introduced to it just a few months ago and I use it almost everyday! Time is of the essence and I can cook a meal from Frozen to table ready in under 45 minutes! YAY!

My favorite kitchen gadget is my thrift store french fry cutter.My home-fries all of a sudden got a lot of Wow Honey/Mom these fries are delicious. Who knew that this simple, easy french fry cutter could make them taste so much better then just using a knife to cut a potato into french fries. It's so easy and fast to use too.

Our electric skillet has been EXTREMELY useful as of late. We use it for our pancakes, bacon, sandwiches etc. It certainly makes short work of things!
My Kitchen-aid mixer. I never dared make bread before I got it, now I can!
My Vita-Mix. I use it EVERY morning to make a chocolate protein shake (with LOTS of ice to make it thick). It is sooooooo much nicer than a regular ol' blender. It's going strong after 7 years (I've probably been through about 6 or 7 regular blenders before it.) My goal is to use it for other things. It does so much more and I haven't even tried. :(
I use my food processor nearly every day. Love it!!
My favorite is my food-processor! I used it for years to make baby food, and now I use it to make homemade bread crumbs, "refried" beans, pie crusts, everything. It's awesome:-)
My favorite gadget would have to be my Silpat! Absolutely love it for easy clean up of what would normally be baked on foods.

Let's see, my favorite is probably my electric wheat grinder. I love the quality of wheat from it. A non electric one would be great to have.

I love my convection toaster oven. It cooks things quickly and it doesn't heat up the house as much as the regular oven.

My favorite gadget is my mini-whisk. It helps making gravy be a cinch!
My favorite is the old donut maker I inherited from my Mom. You fill the tube with donut batter, squeeze the plunger, and a round tire of batter eases down into the hot fat. (I can't seem to make them as symmetrical as Mom could, but my kids don't care!) I love it that it was hers, that it's so practical, and that I remember using it when I was very young. It's a "Grandma tradition" I can carry on with my kids now that Mom is gone.
Mine is my electric griddle. I get alot more pancakes done than with just a skillet.

My favorite kitchen appliance is my dehydrator. I love making homemade fruit rollups - and my kids love them, too!

I would have to say a good set of knives, closely followed by a good mixer. I have a lot of favorites ;), but the things I use the most are knives and baking stuff.
It may be a little sad but I couldn't live without a can opener! It isn't new or exciting but I use it every day.

The gadget that came to mind first was my bench scraper-the flat stainless square with a handle that I use to clean my countertop after kneading bread. I don't get gunky dough in my dishcloth!

Gadgets, hmmm? I love my Fat Daddio removable bottom round cake pan. 1 pot that cooks quiche, cake, and cheesecake. I also couldn't live without my kitchen aid mixer or my cast iron griddle.

It's either my ice cream scoop (always a necessity!) or this big frying pan we have. The pan is great because it's so big you can easily fit several pancakes in at once. Helpful when trying to feed "starving" boys.
I use my Bosch for everything! But I also love my zester for all those lemons/limes this time of year.
Not sure if you would consider it a kitchen gadget but I use my crockpot frequently especially now that summer is coming.

I love my salad spinner. Just chop up lettuce and rinse and spin it dry!

Right now it would have to be our smoothie maker. My husband is so into those.
I love my food mill. I can't imagine canning up the hundreds of pounds of tomatoes and having to seed and slip skins. My food mill does both so quickly.

Since I don't have a bosch to love, I like my kitchenaid. My second favorie is my cheese knife, it makes the perfect slices for sandwiches and snacks.
I love my kitchen shears. Sure, my Kitchenaid is also my favorite but I don't know what I'd do without my shears!
Love gadgets...ok. to be different I will say that my favorite is the tuna can strainer/drainer that a friend bought me. You open the tuna can, put this little can-shaped strainer/drainer in and presto! you have drained all the water out with zero loss of tuna. I also use it to drain veggies.
I've been thinking I need to get one of these. I love my blend-tec Blender. Don't know how I lived without it - I think I use it every day.
It has to be our Kitchen Aid. I hadn't every used one before we were married and my MIL gave it to us as a wedding gift. Love it!!!!

my braun mixer which has a food processor attachment. it's so quick and easy to chop up lots of little things.... especially now for summer chicken salad sandwiches.
The pressure cooker is my absolute favorite kitchen gadget.
My favorite gadget is my mom's old blender. In our family it was called "The Osterizer" (made by Oster) and I sometimes find myself saying I am going to "osterize" something. It has a solid metal base and it is heavy as a horse, and I am crazy about it. I think it will last forever.

Probably an oxo manual can opener.Real easy to use and all those cans of food stored are not too easy to open without it.
It's got to be my cookie/ice cream scoop. It makes every cookie the same size, and I don't have to roll it. It's wonderful!
I think the most useful thing in my kitchen would have to be my crock pot.
For us it's probably a toss-up between our can-opener and our microwave. My husband only knows how to cook with the microwave. :)

I have a set of stainless steel straw spoons I use with smoothies. I love those things. Hopefully it will soon change to a Back to Basics Grain Mill!
my favorite gadget would be a jar opener... instead of the rubber pads you use to open jars, this is a little gadget that breaks the seal on jars, then you just unscrew them.
My favorite kitchen tool is a box of small binder clips (office supply item). I use them to corral lists (To Do, grocery, coupons), to close open bags, and hang small bunches of herbs to dry.
My favorite is a really good set of knives. With these, most other jobs are easier.
My favorite gadget has to be my cast iron skillet...I know for most it may not qualify as a gadget, but I have recently discovered so many ways to use it instead of on top of the oven - in it, on a grill, over a fire, on top of the stove and clean up is a snap and its now probably the most used tool I have in my kitchen.
It's not really a gadget, but I love my griddle. It has helped me mass produce grilled cheese, pancakes, and french toast for the troops. Troops being my hungry kids, of course.
I love my pampered chef food chopper. It makes chopping onions bearable.
does a garlic press count? I use that thing all the time. Garlic is a great way to flavor our meals.

There are several....my kitchen scissors which I use several times a day, my glass measuring cups, my collapsible strainer, my magnetic lid lifer for canning lids, my stackable cooling racks, cookie dough scoop....just name a few.
I'm dying for one of these grain grinders! Currently, my favorite kitchen tool is my pressure canner.
My kitchen aid. You have to love a machine that helps you make cookies in 4 minutes flat.
My Kitchen Aid. When I started making all of our bread I got a heavy duty one and it has been a life saver!

I love my pizza cutter. It is so handy in cutting up the kid's food. It is much easier and quicker than a knife.
My favorite is my slow cooker. I love my slow cooker--cooks beans, soups, roasts, etc. I love it so much I have two different sizes, a good sized one and a huge one!
Food processor. One day I told my husband I love the food processpr. And he said he already knew that because he puts it away every day. (He unloads the dishwasher.)

My schnitzer flaker. It takes an unassuming oat groat...and soften wheat berry and transforms it into oatmeal...and what I call wheatmeal! It never ceases to amaze me...

I love my mix n chop from pampered chef. Browning ground beef has always hurt my hands when I used a wooden spoon. I have a little carpal tunnel I think. This thing works great and no pain:)
